Abstract
There is a great diversity and variety of converters using semiconductors for the purpose of starting and control of electrical drives. The electronic control of electrical machines becomes useful and effective either from the point of view of theoretical analysis or from the point of view of practical applications and limitations. DC choppers are one of these static converters, which can be compared with autotransformers in ac applications. Now they are widely used for voltage and current control of various dc loads.
