Abstract
AbstractMotion equations of constrained mechanical Multi Body Systems (MBS) are described by differential and algebraic equations (DAE). Various modeling methods are implemented, while the simulation is based on commercial DAE‐solvers. A comparison study concerning the quality of their results is presented. Issues, such as the importance of DAE‐index, finding a consistent set of initial conditions, the drift‐off phenomenon as well as the application of projection and stabilization techniques are discussed.
