Abstract

Abstract Optical fiber transmission capacity is a solution that can fulfill the community’s bandwidth demands, which are on the rise owing to the extensive use of the Internet and cellular communications in contemporary society. It has been observed that fiber optic transmission is influenced due to attenuation. The present research is considering various factors that are responsible for attenuation. In present work 1310 nm and 1550 nm fibers are used for simulation. Simulation has been performed in MATLAB environment using signal distortion, multipath distortion, and attenuation in fiber optics according to increasing distance. Simulation is also considering attenuation in fiber optics with respect to joints for wavelength.
