Abstract

Simple calculation formulas for the deflection field and aberrations of resistance box yokes are presented. The field distribution model of the yokes is the same as that of multipole electrostatic deflectors for which adjusting parameters are chosen appropriately. After being simplified, there are only nine integrals in 16 aberration coefficient formulas, and there are no second‐order derivatives of the electric field on the optical axis. An approximate formula for the electric field on the optical axis is given. Thus the field distribution of the yokes can be expressed by an analytical function, and the computation of the aberration coefficients is simpler and more convenient.
