Abstract
Abstract In this paper, a simple birefringent Terahertz fiber based on elliptical hollow core is proposed which is easy to be fabricated by 3D printer. The birefringence of the proposed fiber is obtained by the difference in resonance frequency of two polarization modes caused by structural asymmetry which is not similar to that caused by a simple asymmetric structure. A modal birefringence of the order of 10−3 is obtained with the loss of 0.005 cm−1. The sample is measured experimental. The experimental results are consistent well with the simulation results. And a fast light phenomenon was found during the measurement of the sample.
