Abstract
Perylene orange is a kind of pigment that is not easily photobleached. We doped perylene orange into a 2-mm-thick acrylic plastic monolith as a laser-active medium. Commercially available metalized film tape was affixed to both sides of the acrylic monolith and served as mirrors for a Fabry–Perot resonator. The pump source was a Q-switched frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser. We obtained a yellow laser beam whose center wavelength was 578.6 nm.
