Abstract

New results for an extensive class of real-gas compressible viscous flows are obtained by applying recent group theory techniques for reducing the number of independent variables in systems of partial differential equations. In particular, the results are obtained without assumptions about the functions of state which relate pressure, specific heat, viscosity, and thermal conductivity to the temperature and density.
