Abstract
Objective To look for sensitive markers for the prediction of the recovery of the hematopoiesis function in patients with acute leukemia(AL).Methods The immature reticulocyte fraction(IRF),reticulocyte counts(RET),white blood cell counts(WBC),neutrophil counts(NET)and platelets counts(PLT)in peripheral blood of AL patients were determined with automated Haematology Analyzer Coulter-750.Results IRF began to increase in 15 days after chemotherapy.The rebound of IRF was 5 days earlier than the increase of RET and WBC,and 10 days earlier than the increase of PLT and NET.Conclusions These results suggest that IRF is one of the early markers for the recovery of bonemarrow hematopoietic function after chemotherapy in patients with AL.
