Abstract

Objective To analyze the relationship between the expression of AKT2 and deleted in liver cancer-1 (DLC-1) with biological behaviors of colorectal carcinoma. Methods Envision immunohistochemical method was used to assess the expression of AKT2 and DLC-1 in 70 cases of human colorectal carcinoma tissues and non-cancerous adjacent colorectal tissues. Results The expression rate of AKT2 was 60.00% (42/70) in colorectal carcinoma tissues, and 21.43% (15/70) in non-cancerous adjacent colorectal tissues (P <0.01).The expression rate of DLC-1 was 31.43% (22/70) in colorectal carcinoma tissues, and 84.29% (59/70) in non-cancerous adjacent colorectal tissues (P <0.01).The expression of AKT2 was related to histology grade, serosa invasion,TNM stage and lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05).There was a close relation between the expression of DLC-1 and serosa invasion,TNM stage and lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05).Conclusion Examination of expression of AKT2 and DLC-1 may be of value in evaluating the biological behaviors of colorectal carcinoma. Key words: AKT2; Deleted in liver cancer-1 ; Colorectal carcinoma
