Abstract

In Scotland, the Scottish Intercollegiate Guideline Network (SIGN) has developed national guidelines for management of behavioural and psychological aspects of dementia. Interest in the syndrome has been generated by the arrival of the new memory enhancing drugs. The Lancet has published guidelines and English Royal Colleges and other institutions in Newcastle and Liverpool have been similarly involved.
