Abstract
Epitaxial growth was the enabling technology that transformed the area of silicon-germanium (SiGe) devices from a promising R&D activity into a full-blown commercial enterprise. In this article, we take a closer look at this key stage for the production of SiGe devices and review the developments in production technology that are contributing to the rapid growth in this market.
