Abstract
Mesogenic amines 4-[ω-([4-aminobenzoyl]-, 4-[ω-([3,5-diaminobenzoyl]- and 4-[ω-([4-aminophenyl]oxy)alkoxy]-4'-cyanobiphenyls and their side chain liquid crystal polymers and copolymers obtained by reaction with epoxy resins Gly-Z-Gly (GLY = glycidyl; Z = OCH 2 CH 2 O, OPhC(Me) 2 PhO) were prepared and characterized. Most of these polymers exhibit liquid crystalline behaviour. The crosslinked epoxy polymer has the highest T g , indicating the presence of a network formation. These polymers are used in producing polymer-dispersed liquid crystals.
