Abstract
A 2-year-old boy presented to the Emergency Department (ED) with his mother, with a complaint of left-sided facial swelling. Four days before his visit, the patient’s mother noted a small “bump” under his left jaw that continued to enlarge and become firm to the touch. On examination, the patient was afebrile with normal vital signs. He had a large, 4cm×3cm area of induration that was tender to palpation medial to the inferior border of the left mandible. There was no overlying erythema or increased warmth at this site.
