Abstract

In this paper a Si MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) quadrature hybrid coupler with impedance transformation from 50 /spl Omega/ to 130 /spl Omega/ at 1.35 GHz is described. The MMIC makes use of spiral inductors and MIM (Metal-Insulator-Metal) capacitors. The impedance transformation makes it necessary to use a wide range of inductances (3.73 nH... 17.03 nH). The technology used for realization of the MMICs is shown. Finally, the measurements are compared with simulations and the insertion loss is discussed.
