Abstract

The problem of the normal transverse shear-wave (SH-wave) diffraction from the semi-infinite interface inhomogeneity (defect) in the rigid junction of the elastic layer and the half-space is solved. The defect is modeled by the surface with mixed boundary conditions. The solution is obtained by the Wiener-Hopf technique. The dependences of the diffracted field on the structure parameters are presented in analytical form. Verification of the obtained solution is presented.
