Abstract
Dielectric and thermal properties of KH2 AsO4 (KDA) have been studied in a number of papers.1-4 The transition temperature, the Curie-Weiss constant as well as the temperature dependence of dielectric permeability, spontaneous polarization and specific heat were determined in these studies. However these results do not allow the order of the phase transition in this crystal to be identified. Therefore it is interesting to scrutinize the physical properties of KDA in a narrow vicinity of the ferroelectric phase transition and compare this transition with that of KH2 PO4 (KDP) crystal which has been thoroughly studied.
