Abstract

A fast and stable numerical model is proposed for the study of two dimensional fluid flow and heat transfer problems. The numerical model basically splits the transport equations into different false transient equations. This numerical solution technique, when coupled with a proposed global mesh transformation and modified ADI procedure, enables a class of steady state fluid and heat transfer problems to be solved very efficiently. The problem selected for illustration is the steady fluid motion and heat transfer of an incompressible fluid contained in trapezoidal chambers with heated bases.
