Abstract
This paper examines the evolution of Shanghai into a fashion hub. Through reviewing its fashion origins and the sequential stages of fashion development, the study reveals the formal recognition of Shanghai’s fashion heritage in policy formulation, the preservation of its fashion legacy in urban planning, and the strategic allocation of resources to ensure the industry’s self-sustainability. It proposes a different perspective for global fashion diversity.
