Abstract

The article describes the stages of the development of bicycle infrastructure in urban public transport using multimodal transport technologies. The results of a survey among more than 200 residents and guests of Tashkent were analyzed to determine the importance of the development of bicycle infrastructure. The outcomes of the analysis are based on the fact that the popularization of cycling among the population is not only an improvement in cycling infrastructure but also the integration of cycling into the existing urban public transport system (UPTS). To compare the effectiveness of cycling with the movement of passengers on existing vehicles in the city, the movement of existing vehicles and bicycles in the centre of Tashkent and beyond with the participation of students from the Tashkent Institute of Design, Construction of Automotive Roads has been studied. The analysis compared the time, money, energy consumption and speed of movement on various modes of transport from point A to point B. The effectiveness of implementing the bicycle infrastructure in cities, based on the principle of door-to-door multimodal transport technology, was substantiated.
