Abstract
Abstract Much of the literature on male lust murderers makes cursory reference to behaviors that resemble sexual addiction. Aside from the degree of violence the men display, many of their personality features correspond to the portraits of sex addicts described by Carnes and Schwartz. Their extraordinary needs for high voltage excitement accompanied by profuse sexual fantasies suggest similarities with the arousal and fantasy addicts profiled by Milkman and Sunderwirth. The author's prison interviews with violent sex offenders and murderers further confirm that a fourth level of sexual addiction exists: lust murders and serial killings.
