Abstract

ABSTRACT Current research aims to relate both categories by investigating sexual violence as a risk factor for suicide among college students in Spain (N = 2004). Overall, 13.7% reported having suffered sexual violence in the last year and 3.3% completed sexual penetration. Having suffered sexual violence and lower perceived social support are associated with higher risk of suicidal behaviors. Incorporation of preventive measures against sexual violence in the university environment, as well as the promotion of supportive actions on university campuses in Spain, as well as in other countries.
