Abstract
This paper attempts to chart the raison d'etre that women find challenging in vying for political office and the antecedent non-representation of women in public office. Although women seeking participation and representation in politics were not interviewed, for clarity purposes we attempted to explore the political conditions that account for women’s exclusion from political participation.
