Summary

Introduction

Despite the increased life expectancy associated with advanced dialysis techniques, maintenance hemodialysis (HD) is associated with a substantial impairment of quality of life [1]. The decline in the quality of life of chronic hemodialysis patients is multifactorial, including functional limitation, occupational disturbances, impaired social well-being, and the heavy burden of physical and emotional symptoms. It is often associated with clinical manifestations mainly fatigue, cramps, pain and dyspnea and by the disorders of the sexual function [2]. Even though neglected by the patient as well as the care givers, remains a priority for patients with end stage renal failure (ESRF). It has a significant impact on the couple’s health, mental health and quality of life.
