Abstract

Women are more likely to present for repair of ruptured aortic aneurysm, have smaller aortic diameter at the time of repair, and experience worse perioperative outcomes. Aortic size index (ASI), which indexes the aortic diameter to body surface area, was proposed as a more sensitive measure to determine threshold for repair. Therefore, we evaluated the effect of ASI and aortic diameter on rupture rates and perioperative outcomes following aneurysm repair in female patients.
