Abstract
This contribution provides an overview of the law of service contracts in European private law, with a focus on consumer law. In order to present the research on EU consumer and contract law regarding services, I will start with discussing the concept of services as such. This will be followed by a brief overview of current (national) private law doctrine regarding services. Next EU consumer and contract law regarding services is analysed. Finally I will discuss the category of Services of general interest (SGIs).
