Abstract
This paper studies Service-oriented software engineering paradigm in general analysis. Service-oriented software engineering (SOSE) is a software engineering paradigm for building and developing distributed applications. There are many advantages in terms of SOSE as it facilitates the loose coupling feature. The paper provides a comparison between Object-oriented software engineering and SOSE, advantages and challenges of using SOSE, some of the most known methodologies exist to develop this paradigm, existing modeling notations and also how SOSE is used within real applications.
