Abstract

To solve the problem of predicting the service life of smart electricity meters, this paper proposes a life estimation method using the hypothetical model and field operation data. First, the hypothetical model is studied. Analyzing the influence of temperature, humidity and current on the operational reliability of electronic equipment, the reliability model of smart electricity meter with acceleration factor is put forward. Using this model, the hypothetical life is calculated. Next, using field operation data include years of the replacement data and fault replacement data for smart electricity meters, the hypothetical life is modified to get the service life. This method is useful to improve the reliability and to reduce failure of smart electricity meters.
