Abstract

Data on serial resources in Canadian university libraries, major public libraries, selected college libraries and the collection of National Library of Canada and Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information have been gathered to study budget allocations, new subscriptions and/or cancellations. The survey indicates that there is still some modest growth in university serials collections, whereas it is quite significant in the two Federal Government libraries. Feasibility of a national serial lending facility in Canadian context is discusscd on the basis of the existing concentration of serial resources and the experience of the British Library Lending Division.
