Abstract
This year (9−11 May 2008), the “Botany and allergy” seminar took place at Argelès-sur-Mer. The proximity of the Mas Larrieu to the seaside and to the Massane forest at the heart of the Albères massif allowed the participants to study the mediterranean flora. This year's medical theme was “Pollen and children”. The presentations included “Pollinosis in children”, “Sensitization to pollen and food allergy”, and “Is pollinosis a perennial condition?”. The subjects of the botany communications included: the richness and diversity of the mediterranean flora, the phenology of mediterranean species and the consequences on pollination, and simple methods for knowing the flora and for questioning patients. Led by the botanists, the participants went on to discover the seaside mediterranean flora near Fort Béar, then the flora in the forest of the Albères massif.
