Abstract

The presence of mechanical impurities in the output produced from oil-gas wells is the reason for contamination with sediments at the bottom of transportation pipelines and technological equipment, for the breakdown of moving mechanical parts due to the friction and environment contamination with petroleum wastes as a result of leakages. Installing sand separators at the entry to the reservoirs and pipelines enables separation of mechanical impurities flowing with well output and gather in the sand trap for utilization. For deeper and faster separation of petroleum solids from water in the reservoirs of produced water, the water pipeline should be at the level of 1–1.5 m from the bottom. An angle bend with upward direction should be installed at the end of the pipeline within the reservoir.
