Abstract

1. The authors have investigated the separating capacity of CaA zeolite with respect to hydrocarbons of hydrogenated lube distillate. 2. They show the inhibiting effect of aromatic hydrocarbons on adsorption of normal paraffins by CaA zeolite. 3. To increase the separating capacity of CaA zeolite with respect to the paraffinic-naphthenic hydrocarbons of lube distillate, they must first be subjected to dearomatization. Urea is more effective than zeolite for obtaining low-solidification-point lubes from distillate.
