Abstract

1. The adsorption of paraffinic concentrates which are separated in the urea dewaxing of light oil fractions, which are characterized by the presence of hydrocarbons of various types of structures, by CaA zeolite allows the normal paraffins to be concentrated rather rapidly (in the course of 2 h) at elevated temperatures (300°C) in the zeolite granules from which they are destorbed with low boiling hydrocarbons. 2. The CaA zeolite is most effective in the case of the fractionation of hydrocarbons which boil in narrow temperature ranges. 3. The selectivity of the zeolite's action with respect to the normal paraffins can be used also in determining the chemical composition of the solid hydrocarbons of the light oil fractions.
