Abstract
A method is described whereby the surface reflections, as well as other pulses, can be extracted from P waves recorded at teleseismic distances from nuclear explosions. The method utilizes the fact that the initial portion of the P wave is pure and subtracts this portion by successive addition (subtraction) from later parts of the P wave. Examples of separation are given for three nuclear explosions detonated in Nevada and New Mexico and recorded at Mould Bay, Canada.
