Abstract

An experimental study was made of curves showing cloud points of polyethylene and polypropylene glycol oligomer mixtures with narrow MD and varying average M. Curves are typical of systems with an upper critical temperature of solution. With certain M ratios “shoulders” and even bimodality are observed on the curves. Critical points of separation were determined. Experimental data were compared with the Flory-Huggins-Scott average field theory.
