Abstract

The study of preconscious processes in scientific concept formation has been restricted because of limited procedures for obtaining empirical information about these processes. This report describes the use of the sensory deprivation procedure for studying these processes. It is concluded that the method is useful for making observations of preconscious intuitions in scientific thinking.
