Abstract

The heterostructure of two-dimensional MoS2 material are promising and useful in the field of biochemical sensors. In present communication, the sensitivity of a four-layer planar polymer optical waveguide having an ad-layer of MoS2 material is presented. A common path Mach-Zehnder interferometric method is used for biological sensing applications. The effective refractive indexes of fundamental modes (TE0, TM0) are obtained at considered wavelength range and the difference of their propagation constant is calculated. The output interference signal in presence of different cover medium shows maxima shift which are considered as sensing signal. The phase sensitivity is calculated by using this output interference signal which is 200/RIU.
