Abstract
The present work presents an analysis of a certain class of unsteady turbulent boundary layer flows. The solution technique employed is that of semi-similar solutions in which the independent variables X. y and t are scaled into two variables by appropriate scaling factors. This technique allows the use of standard numerical methods for two-dimensional steady boundary layers to be used directly in the solution of the scaled unsteady problem. Solutions are presented for several unsteady turbulent boundary layer flows with zero or adverse pressure gradients. Solutions are presented which indicate the effects of unsteadi- ness on skin friction and boundary layer thickness. Nomenclature a,b,c,d,e,h - Functions of E defined in equations@) - Skin friction coefficient f C
