Abstract

The development of road infrastructure on the other hand has not been so promising. In the last 50 years the Indian automotive industry has grown 170 times, while the roads infrastructure has expanded only nine times. Navigation on rough roads causes jerking which poses quite a problem for the passengers in the form of chronic health hazards, discomfort and accidents. Thus, there is a great deal of pressure on an automobile engineer to design an optimal suspension system capable of navigating range of terrain. A good suspension system should be able to isolate the car body from jerks as well as maintain proper grip on the roads. Semi-active suspension system can reduce the hazards on the way even after huge jerking due to road mishaps. Here, author developed semi-active suspension system with all graphical analysis of damping and functions of dampers. By this graphical and analytical analysis industry can develop new system for their automobiles. Here, in this paper design aspects of semi-active suspension system is discussed and further analysed the merits of semi-active suspension system and future scope of the system how it can be developed further.
