Abstract

Visual landscape quality can also be defined as “the relative aesthetic perfection of a landscape” and can be measured by the taste of the observer. Visual landscape evaluations make an important contribution to the design and planning of campuses. Based on this idea, it is aimed that this study will be a guide for the campuses that are planned to be designed or planned in the future. The visual landscape analysis of the study was carried out in three stages. The first step is to take the campus photos and to select the pictures to be used in the visual quality determination with the Delphi technique, the second step is to determine the criteria that define the visual impact value, to prepare the questionnaire and to apply it to the volunteer users, and finally to perform the statistical analysis of the obtained questionnaire data with the help of the SPSS statistical package program. The surveyed users were divided into two groups: the user group consisting of Selcuk University students and the expert group consisting of Selcuk University Faculty of Architecture and Design faculty members. In this study, because of visual quality analysis, the relationship between the preferences of the participants and the parameters was analyzed and spatial preference criteria were determined. As a result of the visual landscape quality analysis and evaluation, the elements that will increase the visual quality of the landscape have been revealed in the design and planning studies of the campuses to be made in the future.
