Abstract

Selfobject transferences are one of the valuable aditions of Heinz Kohut's theory to psychodynamic clinical practice. This paper endeavors to apply selfobject transferences to the supervisory process. Supervisor and supervisee are both seen as capable of having selfobject transferences. Implication for the supervisory relationship are explored based on whether one or both parties have selfobject transferences and how the selfobject trabsferences interact.
