Abstract

A new polyoxoanion-based compound, Na 4[Pr(H 2O) 5] 2[IMo 6O 24] 2 · 7H 2O ( 1), has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, XPS, TG, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 possesses a unique three-dimensional open framework composed of [IMo 6O 24] 5− polyoxoanions covalently linked by praseodymium cations, containing “guest” sodium ions and water molecules in the rectangular channels.
