Abstract
A self-tuning polynomial LQG controller design procedure developed for industrial applications in the electrical power sector will be introduced. Special attention is given to the choice of the algorithms needed, to obtain a solution which can be implemented and used in practice. It is shown that for SIMO plants, simplifications can be made which reduce algorithm complexity. The self-tuning LQG controller is demonstrated by a case-study of AVR control.
