Abstract
A preparation procedure for making thin self-supporting boron targets is described. The method is based on the preparation of a pre-fused lump and subsequent evaporation by electron bombardment. Using isotopically enriched material, uniform films of 30–60 μg/cm2 with low carbon and oxygen contamination were obtained.
