Abstract
In this paper, we present a theoretical model of coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equation with variable coefficients describing the self-similar soliton-like optical pulse propagating in the coupled inhomogeneous optical fiber system. The exact self-similar bright soliton-like solution and its propagation characteristics under different perturbation conditions are studied in detail. It is found that, within the range of appropriate parameters, stable propagation of the calculated self-similar bright soliton-like optical pulse can be obtained.
