Abstract

SynopsisLevel of self-esteem and feelings of adequacy, worth, and value as a family member were measured in an investigation of marital satisfaction amongst 70 couples in reconstituted families. Marked correlation was found to exist between Total Positive and Family Self scores of the Tennessee Self Concept Scale and a multidimensional measure of marital satisfaction. The results support previous findings in the area and highlight the need for further research of a longitudinal nature.
