Abstract

The self-biasing effect was investigated in epitaxial garnet films from liquid nitrogen to room temperature. This effect is interpreted using the idea of a homogeneous magnet with many easy, energetically nonequivalent magnetization axes (sample inhomogeneities are usually discussed for such effects interpretation). The process of vanishing of hysteresis loops was observed while lowering the temperature. The process could be explained by an easy axes orientation transition to the sample plane.
