Abstract

The density and strength of graphite-chamotte parts depend upon the character of the structure of the compact, which is dependent upon the amount of applied pressing pressure and also the content and form of the production binder. With the use of the generalized function of desirability the optimum composition of production binder was found. In testing in the connecting channel of a unit for superheating cupola iron with natural gas the experimental parts produced showed a life double that of high-alumina blocks and many times greater than that of chamotte brick.
