Abstract
The use of fire-resistant fluids is now wide spread and in certain areas namely underground coal mines, it is mandatory. This article briefly reviews the properties and uses of such fluids in mining equipment. The effects of the physical properties of various fire-resistant fluids on the dynamic performance of a hydrostatic transmission system has been analysed through system modeling and simulation.
