Abstract

AbstractThis current paper describes the results of our study on users' health information seeking in Wikipedia and on their subsequent satisfaction as an indicator of future Wikipedia usage for health information needs. We examine six factors associated with user’ satisfaction. Based on multiple regression analysis of 322 responses, the paper identifies information quality factors associated with continued use of Wikipedia as a health information source. The results show that trustworthiness, reliability, topic coverage, and information presentation significantly affect user’ satisfaction with Wikipedia health information. Among these factors, information presentation and trustworthiness were most influential on user’ satisfaction.
