Abstract
In this paper, we compare the performance of linear receivers such as maximum-ratio combining (MRC), zero-forcing (ZF) and minimum mean-square error (MMSE) receivers in enhancing security of cellular multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) interference networks. At first, we derive the expressions of secrecy spectral efficiency considering finite number of antennas at the MRC, ZF and MMSE receivers. Then, we consider the case when the number of antennas at the receivers tends to infinite and reduce the expressions of secrecy spectral efficiency. Finally, we compare the performance of MRC, ZF and MMSE receivers in enhancing security of cellular MIMO interference networks with different number of antennas at the receivers. Our results show that the performance of MRC receiver is worse than ZF and MMSE receivers. Moreover, the use of moderately large antenna arrays can enhance the secrecy spectral efficiency compared to the single antenna system.
